Richard Branson’s Necker Island

Back in March, Necker Island announced that the exclusive resort would reopen in October 2018. At that time they reported, “We’re delighted to share the news that Necker Island will be welcoming guests back for both Exclusive Use bookings and Celebration Weeks from October 2018. Work is well underway to rebuild the island and guests can look forward to white sandy beaches, luxurious accommodation, watersports, tennis and world-class food in one of the most beautiful regions of the world.”

Well now it looks like all their hard work is coming to fruition. According to a recent artice in the Caribbean Journal they reported, “One of the most exclusive private-island destinations in the Caribbean — and the world — is about to make a triumphant return. Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands is set for an official reopening next month…”

“Delighted that Necker Island will soon be open again as we continue the recovery from Hurricane Irma,” Branson wrote on Virgin.com. “I’m looking forward to welcoming our first guests of 2018 back to Necker – the Extreme Tech Challenge.” In addition, the 7th Annual Necker Cup will be held in November and has announced that Kenny Chesney will be performing at the End of the World Party on November 28.

According to the Virgin Limited Edition website, there will be 11 bedrooms in the Great House, including the fabulous Master suite, and a bunkroom that sleeps up to six children. Looking to take the island exclusively? Necker can easily accommodate 22 guests, plus six children in the bunkroom, but if your party is a bit bigger they can accommodate up to 16 additional guests on neighbouring Moskito Island (only a 5 minute boat ride away) in Beach Villa and Mangrove Villa, each with four bedrooms.

Later in the year they will welcome back Bali Lo, Bali Kukila and Bali Buah, all due to be available from December. More rooms will be added throughout 2019, so stay tuned for more exciting news and developments to come.
