Helping Independent Owners of Crewed Yachts in the BVI

The Charter Yacht Society (CYS) is a registered non-profit organization which was founded in 1982 by independent owners of crewed yachts based in the BVI. It is the only BVI government recognized body within the crewed charter industry. By crews and for crews, the society represents the organized voice of individual BVI based yacht operators. The CYS advocates, educates and promotes.

The members of the Charter Yacht Society of the British Virgin Island provide private cruising vacations to guests from around the world. Its member crews are from a wide variety of backgrounds, both professionally and culturally. Crewed chartering is often a second career and many members have unusual stories to tell.

The Charter Yacht Society member yachts are represented by a network of over 200 professional charter yacht brokers worldwide. Brokers gain personal knowledge of the crews and their yachts through attendance at our annual BVI Charter Yacht Show in November or at our mid year show in May. The shows also give member yachts an opportunity to show off their yachts and crew plus the ability to meet representatives from companies who offer quality products and services to the industry.

Charter Yacht Society membership currently consists of 75 member yachts.
