Just heard from James and Diane Bates, owners of Sage Mountain Villa in Romney Park, that their villa survived Irma. They reported, “Sage Mountain Villa was constructed to withstand a Category 5 Hurricane. We now have electricity and are accepting short term and long term reservations online. This is a fantastic time to visit Tortola; the weather in the winter and spring months is absolutely superb,” they added. “The outside living area and the gorgeous tiled pool with its extensive stonework terraced veranda overlook are very private, soothing and picturesque.”
Newly constructed and spaciously comfortable, Sage Mountain Villa has three air conditioned bedrooms and three and a half baths. The home is on two levels and is completely screened. This home was created by the well-known BVI architect Michael Arneborg. We let him design it to his high standards. Integration of architecture, interior strength and innovative design was his fundamental approach. Michael Arneborg was widely considered to have been the premiere architect of fine family homes on Tortola, in the West Indian style.

Screened glass sliders open out to the front balcony and the splendid covered West Indian veranda with 2 ceiling fans. The well thought out flow of rooms assures privacy and convenience for a vacationing party of up to six.
The spacious fully equipped kitchen with 2 ceiling fans will handle meals large and small. The kitchen opens to the veranda pool area. Flowing Quartz counter-tops, dishwasher and an array of modern appliances are in a light and bright setting with a fantastic view of the Sir Frances Drake Channel. A convenient half bath is tucked just around the entry foyer and a full laundry is available adjacent the kitchen. This villa is equipped with a water purification / filtration system.
The air conditioned master bedroom with cathedral ceiling is spacious and airy. It resides on the main level in privacy away from the central activity of the home. Through screened glass sliders, it opens up to the front balcony where picturesque vistas will capture much attention. The ensuite master bath is finished in stone travertine and has an over-sized walk-in shower.
A staircase leads around to the lower level and there are two large, bright air conditioned bedrooms each with an ensuite full bath in stone travertine. Screened glass sliders open out to a glorious colonnade surrounded by a captivating array of colorful floral, Caribbean plantings and more dramatic Vistas. Teak and wicker furniture accented with bright color enhance the Caribbean flair. The home is wired for Wi-Fi and an audio system. A cell phone is provided for local calls. The TV will be back online shortly.
Beautiful with high cathedral ceilings, the inviting covered veranda looks out to the sea and enjoys the fresh trade wind breezes. It is conveniently accessed from the kitchen and living room. Just beyond the veranda is a gorgeous expansive coral stone sun terrace with a sparkling salt water pool system and lounges to help soak up the sun. This is a wonderful and relaxing setting for island time activities and casual dining.
